Fiscal Responsibility

This is the number one concern of my neighbours; increasing taxes with nothing to show for it. Council has the responsibility to question expenses and control costs. Past Council has used Lake Country residents as a piggy bank. THIS STOPS NOW!

Scrutinize

I will scrutinize every budget line and current contracts to eliminate waste and duplication.

Justify

I will oppose tax increases that are not justified by a clear community benefit.

Advocate

I will advocate for long-term financial planning that protects future generations.

Communication and Transparency

Why has Council been so secretive and why have they chosen to not be transparent to the people they are responsible to? I will ensure an open and accessible Council to keep all residents informed and genuinely involved.

Listen

I will maintain an open-door policy and respond to every resident.

Communicate

I will hold community meetings and use digital tools to make participation easy for all residents.

Transparent

I will ensure council publishes clear, plain language updates on council decisions and spending.

Roads and Mobility

How hard is it to fix the darn potholes? It seems like it's the one thing that residents complain about on social media. By fixing the potholes and roads, it tells our neighbours that we are listening.

Prioritize

I will establish a ward-by-ward road level priority list to address what needs to be fixed first.

Partner

I will work with Regional and Provincial partners to address traffic safety and road upgrades.

Improve

I will work to improve pedestrian and cycling infrastructure where engineering supports them.

Community Safety

As Lake Country continues to grow, we have seen an increase in public safety issues typically reserved for cities like Kelowna. The problem is here now, and it will take a lot of work to curb the expansion of it.

Address

I will address the root causes of community safety and work on solutions.

Strengthen

I will strengthen partnerships between local governments, residents and law enforcement.

Support

I will support adequate RCMP resourcing and available community programs.

Fire Services and Emergency Readiness

We are a community on edge when it comes to fires. My family and neighbours have been impacted by wildfires and we need to do everything we can to be proactive and reactive when the need arises.

Supported

I will ensure the fire departments are properly staffed, equipped and funded.

Reduce

I will work with Regional and Provincial partners to advance FireSmart programs and wildfire interface risk reduction.

Rely

I will work to ensure all residents can rely on the basics of fire support and suppression.
